Why should we prioritize food packaging testing?

When we choose and buy food, we pay closer attention to the various labels on the packaging—such as the production date, shelf life, and product ingredients. But in fact, we often overlook one crucial aspect: the safety of the food packaging itself. So, how can we ensure that the food packaging we use is safe and harmless? That’s exactly why food packaging-related testing becomes essential.
Food packaging testing primarily ensures the safety of food packaging through the following aspects:
First is the safety testing of packaging materials: Food packaging comes in a wide variety of materials, some of which may pose risks to food products—such as containing harmful chemicals that could be detrimental to human health. Food packaging testing involves analyzing the composition and content of these materials to ensure they meet relevant standards and regulations, thereby safeguarding consumers' health and safety.
Second, food packaging must undergo tests for sealing and stability: The packaging should provide excellent sealing and maintain structural integrity, effectively safeguarding the food from contamination and spoilage. Packaging inspections specifically evaluate these critical aspects to ensure that the product remains stable throughout transportation, storage, and use, thereby preserving both the quality and safety of the food inside.
There are also some other testing items that we won't go into further details about here.
In short, food packaging testing is crucial for consumers. The China Packaging Research and Testing Center will ensure the safety and reliability of the food packaging we purchase by addressing multiple aspects of food packaging inspection.
