Using oil-absorbing paper for testing experiments?
As people become increasingly focused on healthy eating, many are trying every possible method to remove excess oil from their food, aiming to consume less fat. Yet, most of these approaches fall short of delivering the desired results.
Driven by the strong demand for "oil-absorbing methods," a trendy new "magic trick" for removing oil from food has recently gained popularity. Reportedly, all you need to do is place it on top of your food, and it effortlessly siphons away the oil from the surface.
“Just drop a thin oil-absorbing paper into your soup pot before drinking—it’ll soak up quite a bit of the oil, instantly clarifying the broth. And when used before eating instant noodles, it effortlessly removes excess grease.” As for oil-absorbing papers, there’s a wide variety of materials available on the market, and opinions about their effectiveness remain divided.
Recently, Tianjin TV Science and Education Channel Journalists visited the China Packaging Research and Testing Center and conducted an exclusive interview with a relevant expert on a range of questions about "oil-absorbing paper," using official media to address public concerns surrounding this new product. The expert recommended conducting essential tests, including hygiene and safety assessments, as well as microbiological testing.
Center engineers conducted a series of scientific experiments using specialized equipment and confirmed that both oil-absorbing films and oil-absorbing papers do, in fact, exhibit some degree of oil absorption. However, users must be extremely careful to ensure food temperatures remain within safe limits—specifically, the oil-absorbing film should not exceed 120°C, while the oil-absorbing paper should stay below 200°C. Additionally, for oil-absorbing paper, acidic environments can actually accelerate the release of harmful substances; therefore, it’s not recommended for use with acidic foods.
Based on hygiene and safety tests, microbiological analyses, and more, If you're looking to eat healthier with less oil, make sure to choose oil-absorbing paper and film that meet safety standards.
For scientific research and testing, the center not only boasts state-of-the-art equipment but also boasts highly skilled, top-tier professionals. Whether you're an individual or an organization, the center is fully equipped to provide you with high-quality, specialized services.
