Exploring the Secrets of Packaging: A Look at Packaging Testing—Tianjin Radio and Television Station’s Young Reporter Group Visits China Packaging Research and Testing Center

The industry’s growth extends far beyond technological innovation—indeed, it is the power of传承 (tradition and heritage) that truly drives the creation of tomorrow. Empowering the logistics sector through innovative packaging solutions that enhance quality and boost efficiency, while fostering the orderly development of transportation and logistics, is both the center’s responsibility and its unwavering commitment. Equally vital, nurturing the talent needed for the future of transportation and logistics is a duty the center simply cannot afford to overlook.

What are the key benefits of packaging?

How is packaging inspection conducted?

What does packaging have to do with our daily lives?

Recently, the China Packaging Research and Testing Center warmly welcomed a delegation led by 40 A small delegation of young reporters from the Tianjin Radio and Television Station's Junior Reporter Group paid a visit and conducted interviews. Armed with curiosity, the budding journalists delved into packaging knowledge, toured the laboratory, and even got hands-on with activities like layered quantitative testing of cardboard. By exploring the world of packaging and gaining insights into transport packaging, these young "flowers of the motherland" truly grasped the critical importance of packaging research and testing.

To help the young reporters grasp the basics of packaging, Engineer Guo Qile from the Testing Business Development Department delivered a lively and engaging lesson on packaging knowledge. He used real-world examples to explain Tetra Pak packaging solutions as well as the critical importance of recycling. The young reporters listened attentively, taking notes throughout the session.

Next, Engineer Guo Qile and Teacher Du Min from the Marketing Department led the children in experiencing a layered quantitative test for cardboard, explaining in detail the purpose of this testing experiment. Under the guidance of the staff, the children participated in several steps of the experiment, gaining a clear understanding of how the layered quantitative assessment of cardboard is conducted.

Finally, the young reporters’ group split into two teams, each led by Engineer Guo Qile and Cui Wen, Deputy Director of the Transport Packaging Laboratory, to tour the Physical Chemistry Lab and the Transport Packaging Lab. As they explored, the children listened attentively as their guides explained the functions of various pieces of equipment and highlighted the significance of conducting related testing experiments. By observing the labs up close, the kids gained a firsthand sense of the complexity involved in packaging inspections and began to grasp the unique roles of different lab instruments. This experience sparked their curiosity and ignited a deep interest in the inspection and testing processes associated with packaging.

For the young reporters, this visit and interview were an eye-opening, unprecedented experience that brought both surprises and valuable takeaways. The hands-on activity—exploring packaging and learning about transport packaging—helped the children grasp the concept of packaging testing in a more tangible way, while also deepening their understanding of the everyday packaging they encounter in their lives. It planted a curiosity within them to uncover the fascinating secrets behind packaging, making this a truly unique and inspiring journey of discovery.

The industry’s growth goes beyond technological innovation—indeed, the power of传承 (tradition and heritage) is what truly fuels the creation of tomorrow. Empowering the logistics sector through packaging to enhance quality and boost efficiency, while fostering the orderly development of transportation and logistics, is both the center’s responsibility and its commitment.
