U.S. Military Standard Testing—How the MIL-STD-810G Test Is Conducted
MIL-STD-810G Testing—referred to as "Environmental Engineering Assessment and Laboratory Testing"—involves evaluating product packaging through environmental testing methods, identifying issues, and iteratively refining the product design to ensure continuous improvement. This process ultimately aims to maximize the product’s ability to adapt to its operating environment throughout its entire lifecycle. Importantly, these tests for various environments are conducted by simulating real-world conditions, which places exceptionally high demands on the technical and operational capabilities of third-party packaging testing organizations.
To many, passing the U.S. military standard packaging tests for a product feels like enduring a "grueling ordeal"—not only because of the rigorous nature of these military-grade packaging inspection criteria, but also because the standards are overseen and enforced by a tri-service organization representing the U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force. As times have changed, however, this once-exclusive set of military packaging test standards has increasingly been adopted for use in commercial product packaging evaluations as well.
MIL-STD-810G Testing requires costly fees, and typically, only high-value or critically important commercial products—such as watches, jewelry, and leather goods—are subjected to these tests—to effectively "vouch for" their quality. But what specific environmental testing conditions does this coveted standard test—including factors like temperature, humidity, and mechanical stress—actually encompass?
There are high-altitude low-pressure conditions, extreme temperatures—including temperature shock (both in standby and operational states)—rain exposure (including wind-driven and freezing rain tests), humidity, mold growth, salt spray corrosion, sand and dust, explosive gas environments, liquid leakage, acceleration and transportation shocks, as well as shooting-induced vibration and random vibration, among others.
Whether it's Military Product Packaging Inspection , or other products Packaging Inspection During the above-mentioned test items, none of them are mutually dependent; therefore, merchants can choose to have only one of these tests conducted at a third-party testing facility. To successfully meet the U.S. military standard testing criteria, MIL-STD-810G Testing Our products have undoubtedly been "thoroughly refined through countless trials." The rigorous standards of the U.S. military specifications—let’s tackle them together, these U.S. military standards! MIL-STD-810G With IEC60068 Let’s take a closer look at the differences between the pilot projects.
