Overview of Research Projects at the China Packaging Science and Testing Center

The China Packaging Research and Testing Center actively undertakes in-depth scientific and technological research across the packaging sector, steadily advancing China's journey from a packaging powerhouse to a true packaging leader.

In recent years, the center has successfully completed several key projects, including the national "11th Five-Year" Science and Technology Support Program projects such as "Technology for Resource Recovery of Packaging Waste—Research on Green Packaging Technologies in China," as well as Ministry of Finance-funded high-tech R&D initiatives in the packaging industry, like "Comprehensive Utilization of Discarded Paper Packaging Materials" and "Development of a Complete Set of Testing Instruments for Safety Performance of Aerosol Cans." Additionally, the center has been involved in projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology, such as "Construction of a Public Service Platform for Waste Reduction Packaging Technologies for SMEs," along with internal research projects focusing on topics like "Detection of Bisphenol A and Its Derivatives in Coatings Used on Food Canned Goods' Inner Walls" and "Study on Analytical Methods for Nonylphenol Compounds in Packaging Materials." Beyond these, the center has also undertaken external collaborative projects, including "Logistics Environment Research" commissioned by China Railway Express and "Research on Data Collection and Application Methods for Circulation Environments" conducted at Beijing Institute of Printing. Furthermore, the center has managed development projects outsourced by the National Development and Reform Commission, such as the "Risk Early Warning Analysis on Product Quality and Safety of Hazardous Goods Packaging in Binhai New Area." To date, the center has contributed to over 40 research projects, many of which have been supported by the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, further solidifying its role as a leader in packaging technology innovation and sustainability.
